Llandudno 2017 – Another Successful DMDS Expedition!

The chorus from Dun Laoghaire Musical Society (DMDS) won the ‘Just for Fun’ choir competition at the North Wales International Choral Festival in Llandudno last weekend. This is a major international competition with over 70 choirs competing in different categories. This was the second win in a row for DMDS in the ‘Just for Fun’ category in which 11 choirs competed.

The chorus of 38, conducted by Des Cox, performed: Baba Yetu, Sing a Song of Sixpence, and Fix You.

We are off to Llandudno!

ShipDMDS  are entered in the North Wales International Choral Festival in Llandudno in November. This is the first time DMDS has entered in an international competition,  although we have an excellent record in domestic competition.  The ferry, the coach to Llandudno from Holyhead, and the hotel are all booked, and some 40 members are travelling.  We are one of 3 Irish choirs competing at the Festival.

More details on the Festival are at www.northwaleschoralfestival.com.  Our rehearsals for the Choral Festival commence on Tuesday 13th September and we will have a new members introductory night on Tuesday 6th September.   If you are interested to join us, please email info@dmds.ie.
