Princess Fred is 'OMG, totally Shamered'

Shona putting in a star turn in 'Once Upon A Matress' as Princess Winefred
Congratulations to Shona Henneberry who picked up an AIMS Award on Saturday night and is now officially the funniest lady in the country! After wowing audiences and splitting sides for a week in the Pavilion Theatre as our fabulous Princess Fred she proved her worth on the INEC stage too bringing the house down with her reaction!
Commiserations to Jen Dalton who narrowly missed out on the award for Best Supporting Female, but well done to Jen McGann and Pat McElwain who were among a number of DMDS friends to pick up trophies in recognition of their performances and efforts on stage or behind the scenes.
DMDS followed a rainbow to the pot of gold!
DMDS yet again mounted a clean sweep of competition C (mixed choir) and competition I (cameo) at the New Ross Choral Festival. The Choral category was particularly hard-fought with a much larger number of entries than for many years, but 'The Ballad of Sweeney Todd' and 'Somewhere Over A Rainbow' proving to be just what was required to bring home the silverware once again. The cameo group wowed a large and expectant crowd with the opening excerpts from 'Title Of Show', and were unparralleled in more ways than one unfortunately, but picked up the trophy with one of the highest adjudication marks of the day. -

Jen Dalton received a nomination for 'Best Supporting Female' at the announcement of those in the running for a prestigious AIMS Award for her wholely against-type performance as the icey Queen Aggravain in our March show. This is Jen's second nomination in recent years having previously been recognised for her performance as Florence in our production of 'Chess'.
